Musings 2014

A job is a temporary solution to a permanent problem.
Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
:) well, then whats the problem and whats the solution ?

Some follow their heart, others follow orders from their superiors.

What do people who have no creativity and/or lack confidence in themselves do?
Enjoy life ;)

Moonlight Musings :
They could not face their own fears, so they choose to suppress the voices of freedom.
I was surprised.

2013 Musings

If you move on in life, you will miss the depth of life.

To understand the problems of the society, have a good look at yourself.

People don't have vision, they only live day to day.

never take progress for granted.

If you don't love to know (learn), you will never know(learn) to love.

It takes courage to have faith in oneself.

Homo sapiens is a unique species, not just for its ability to change environment, also for its ability to motivate and change other members of its species.

What did Humans learn first, to manipulate other humans or to manipulate the environment.

2012 Musings

Knowledge is my religion.
All books ever written are my sacred texts.
Schools, colleges and libraries are my places of worship.
There is no clergy, no
rituals, no dogma and no blasphemy

The purpose of studying books, it to be able to study the world.

Symbolism is not a substitute for progress.
See the (women or caste based) appointments of CMs, President, and other prominent posts.

Those who wish to move mountains, must not have a hitch in turning stones.

I don't yearn for comfort or rest, coz, one day I have to be my best (or make this world its best)

Doing something for someone should be seen as a capability building exercise.

Weekend Musings : After a rubber stamp PM, India will have a rubber stamp President. Systematic degradation of the institution of democracy is being undertaken. This can have a long term impact on India.
Monday Musings:  If you fool around, don't be surprised if you end up being a fool.
There is no harm in tolerating fools as long as they don't start fooling you or don't make you do foolish things.

If you put the cart before the horse, they don't blame the horse for not pulling the cart.

Consumerism will consume the earth. Say no.
Generation gap is an euphemism for sensibility gap.

India assumes reforms means red carpet for foreign companies, and forgets internal reforms.

Evolution is a matter of consciousness

Artist are not soldiers, don't expect one to come to the rescue of others.

Fluidity is stronger than rigidity.

2011 Musings

if by the end of the day, you think your dream is impossible or too difficult, go to sleep and see the dream again, when ur awake you will again think it can be made real.

Knowing nothing about the unknown is as good as knowing the unknown.

With the physical properties of coal, one will not get the functional properties of diamond.

The last lap is always the most difficult.

Monday Musings:
Too much pain or too much pleasure will both result in death, I guess there is no life in heaven of hell.

Monday Musings:
Synonym of Life is try.

Monday Musings:
The rich can (afford to) be arrogant,
The poor can (afford to) be ignorant,
The middle class can (afford to) be complacent,
Me being nothing, can't afford anything,  :)

Weekend Musings: The difficulty of finding someone, is trivial in comparison to the difficulty of finding Oneself.

Monday Musings: When I looked back for footprints on the sands of time, I saw someone has been dragging his feet. :)

2010 Musings

Weekend Musings: Aamir Khusroo modified for India media:
Bura jo dekhan main chala bura hi mila har koi,
Apne dil mein jab dekha to mujhse bura na koi.Mass media: No longer a window to the world, but another opium of the masses.

Monday Musings: Wealth has two components, creation and valuation. For fear of low valuations, we refrain from creating wealth.

"Monday musings: In India, Women in power don't care for women in need.
Girls will have to learn to 'take the bull by the horns'."

"By definition, the character of a democratic govt depends more on the character of the governed, than those who govern. If you fit a Maruti car with a steering of Merc, it will still be a Maruti"

"People should understand the importance of money and the futility of monetary wealth "

"I Wonder what difference it will make if Stock Exchange work 24 hours a day"

"'Trickle down' economics fails as people 'siphon off' at each level"

"Fools day made me think about Love,
creatively speaking, here are some one liners:
Love is a fuel for the fools.
Love is for those who love to fool themselves.

------------------------------------------
Anyway, analytically speaking,
There are two types of love in modern world, Consumer Love and Creative love.

If a girl says she loves ice cream or a guy says he loves beer, its consumer love.

If someone says, I love to cook, paint, workout, etc, its Creative love.

Consumer love give you instantaneous high,
Creative love doesn't.

Many ppl will encourages your Consumer love. Call them marketing/sales team.
Its rare to find someone who encourages your Creative love.

Person to person love, can be one of the two, or mix of the two. Go ahead make your own mocktail ;)

I hope using above classification helps you in love, life or love life whatever you call it."

=============================================================
Monday Musings: The prevalence of money has made people forget what wealth is. To begin with, check in the dictionary.

09 Musings

When faced with a challenge, some people adapt, some people evolve.

Set a standard for yourself, set an example for others.

The only reward for good, is just punishment to the bad. It needs resolve.

Don't indulge in Flattery, Formality or Flirt.

My only success is that failure has not made me bitter. :)

Herds don't go to heaven.

Who is your biggest enemy, your ignorance or your laziness.

Traditional mass media (Print, TV, etc) is running with the hare and hunting with the hounds.

'Pursuit of wealth' is not 'law of gravity', it is not applicable on all people at all times.
Go to your frends place, drive out, get a drink, .....
or just find someone, and help them a bit,

Want to see a mass civil disobedience movement, see the way people drive in India.
From a richshaw walla, to Mercedes walla,
from illiterate to Phds, MBAs
Man, woman, old or children
all break traffic rules for silly reasons.

The trouble in climbing a steep learning curve is that you can slip back very often.

Saving corporations to save people is corporate democracy.

Invention is better than cure. Let old companies fail and new ones come up.

You can't make the tail wag the dog for ever.

Consumerism will be the casualty of this crisis.

If you are in a Big box, tt is difficult to think out of the box. Big company, big city, big pay check, all are big boxes.

Keep looking at the eye......................of the storm, this one is going to be too big to be forgotten

Musings on Love

Life is a love triangle. There is me, there is failure, there is success.
Still my affair continues with knowledge and I keep flirting with more subjects.
There is also something impossible waiting for me to give it a try.

All become jealous, because I day dream of having a date with (ever elusive) excellence.

Atleat I could have blamed my teachers for imbalances.
may be no one is balanced enough to create course content.

FM channels are feeding the Jockeys and starving the horses.

Musings

Its a new tragedy of the commons.
Those on Forbes list lost only their valuations, common man lost his money.

-------------------------------
Analyst, the stock market variety, are (or should be) the fourth pillar of capitalism. They were too busy getting their share of the cake, now its on their face.

A few of them had their cake and ate it too.

World fin crisis Oct 08

Monday Musings:
Its not just money and authority, its the ideology that the world seems to have lost.
20 years ago, the world was sure, that the communist ideology has come to an end.
Now the world is not sure if the capitalist ideology can sustain itself.
May be time for some new ideology to evolve.

The other way:
Mark McCormak is turning in his grave, wants to write the next edition of 'What they still don't teach you at Harvard Business School'.

Its not that the B-schools don't teach, its just that the glitz makes it hard to remember the lessons.

More Monday Musings

Once again, I am at it.

They said, 'Work is Worship' and meant 'Boss is God'
I said, give me break,
Work is never as easy as worship. and Boss is everywhere but God is difficult to find.

July 08
There are three kinds of people in the World.
Good, Bad and Ugly.
There are three kinds of People in the office.
The Incompetent, the unwilling and the Incorrigible

Ratan Tata does not figure in the list of billionaires, but commands love and respect of billions.
He has chosen GLORY over GOLD. (more Glory, less Gold)

P.S. Is it a difficult choice to make? Why do so many choose the other?

ON PAK
BB's will opposes BB'S wish,
She wanted democracy in Pak, but not in her party.

I love leaders with double standards. ;-)

ON CRICKET
The guardians of the game rob it of its Glory,
And a poor boy gets the Crown of Thorns;
Some men in their quest for history,
Do all the wrongs;

P.S. Its time Technology takes over from the two old men.

Getting better at it

Books don't offer solutions, they only offer tools for it.

Those who are running ahead in the RAT race should be the first once to see the futility of it

Not Golf, not Horse Racing,
Its bending the rules, twisting the facts, in short fooling the masses.

Weekend Musings:
Everyone faces connectivity problems, dropped calls, poor signals etc.
The 'communication towers' required for making a good connection between ones HEART and MIND are located far away.
In common language, these towers are called 'frnds'.

P.S.: Just testing this scrap to all thing, do you think it can be misused by ppl like me.

WEDNESDAY WIT:
One of the ironies of the growth of human civilization is that the Lunch/Dinner no longer grows on trees, it grows in a place called economy, where one is more busy climbing then plucking.

Have goals worthy of being called Ambition.
